Rachel Maddow goes to extreme measures to avoid hearing her high school graduation speech. She also discusses ironic fashion, and the departure of Keith Olbermann from MSNBC. (Spoiler: it’s all Michael Kusek’s fault!)
I know that many of you have questions about what’s going on, and the truth is: we don’t even have all the answers yet. The possibilities are dizzying. The offers are flattering and gratifying. We started the week with a few ideas, and suddenly…it was all happening. It’s been an exhilarating and exhausting 72 hours. And it could not have been done without the help of some truly amazing people. Thanks to Tom Pappalardo of Standard Design for putting together an amazing looking website, and being available at a moment’s notice to help with audio emergencies. Thanks also to our new engineer Tom Malsbury for all the research, the computer work, the sound engineering, and the motivation. Thanks to “Buttercup†Bill Scher for the burgers and the use of the extra mic, and for getting the World Media Domination ball rolling. Thanks to Traci Olsen and Sarah Buttenwieser for enthusiasm. Thanks to Tina McElmoyl for driving me around and feeding me just now, because I was too tired to function.
And of course, a huge thanks to all of you who clamored for more, who asked what you could do to help. This is for you.
And now, thanks to Rachel Maddow, we have for you a little taste of what’s to come.
