Bet Power, founder and curator of the Sexual Minorities Archive, believes that Northampton is losing its character and status as Lesbianville USA because of gentrification. Gay marriage acceptance may be spreading across the country, but queer kids are still committing suicide, and trans women are still murdered with astonishing impunity. Is there a way to make sure Northampton remains a safe and affordable haven for everyone in the LGBTQ community?

Bill may like to joke about how his personal trainer likes to put the hurt on him every week, but the truth is, Lynne Marie Wanamaker is doing what she can to lessen the amount of pain in the world. The suicides of several teenagers over the past year has raised the topic of bullying everywhere – from our local papers to the internet to our favorite TV shows. Lynne Marie and her friend Jenn Bealer discuss the effects of bullying and harassment, especially in regard to the LGBT community, and offer some tips on what you can do to help. They’re also offering a workshop.
