The Northampton Chamber of Commerce is recommending some new zoning regulations for King Street. Will they help all Northampton residents? We talk to former city councilor Fran Volkmann, planning consultant Joel Russell, Economic Development Committee Chair Dennis Bidwell, and Chamber executive director Suzanne Beck about Northampton’s zoning past, and possible future.

As someone who worked on zoning regulations when he was a city councilor, Bill is understandably miffed that his hard work is now being characterized by some as nothing more then an attempt to bludgeon developers to death with puppies. Okay, maybe I’m exaggerating. No one mentioned puppies. At any rate, Bill called on Northampton Planning Director Wayne Feiden to give some background to the current conversation about highway business development.
