Shake your booty (and other body parts)

Join Bill and Jaz at Look Park tomorrow for the 20th annual Transperformance. This year’s theme is “Body Parts.” See how we translate that into costume (don’t worry – there is no chance of us showing up as Slim Goodbody).

Be a part of our live show audience!

We’ll be doing a live taping of the podcast at the Laurel Park Chautauqua tomorrow. We’ll be on around 3:15, with a special guest. The shindig starts at 11am, and it’s free!

Also, tomorrow night there’s a reunion of The Aloha Steamtrain at the Iron Horse. The Aloha Steamtrain features Lord Russ, who wrote and performs the Bill Dwight Show theme song. He doesn’t live around these parts anymore, so it’s good to catch him when he’s around. And, of course, it’s always good to be entertained by those talented Rub Wrongways folks.

All I ever wanted…

Bill is currently on vacation, and I’ll be heading out of town myself for a week. We’ll still be posting shows, but it will be a little sporadic. We didn’t want to think we were slacking. Though, I guess we are slacking. That’s what vacation is for, right?

The Cost of War

According to the National Priorities Project, Northampton spends about $40,000 a day on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Now the city is mulling a resolution to bring those dollars home. We talk to activist and pacifist Paki Wieland about the cost of war. We also hear the lowdown about her recent arrest and trial for protesting President Obama’s failure to keep his promise to close Guantanamo, and the differences between how she was treated and how the Tea Partiers were treated.
